SMS API
Connect your business to SMSGELY.
How it works
Your system sends, SMSGELY delivers
- 1. Create an API key in your dashboard and give it only the permissions it needs.
- 2. Send a request from your server with the number, sender and message.
- 3. SMSGELY checks and prices it — SMS units, your rate and your balance — and queues it safely.
- 4. Track delivery by message ID, or receive delivery reports on your server automatically.
The code on this page is illustrative. Real endpoints, parameters, responses and error codes are in the API documentation after you sign in.
<?php
// Example only — your API key stays on your server.
$response = sendSms([
'to' => '01700000000',
'sender' => 'YOURBRAND',
'message' => 'Your order #1042 is confirmed. Thank you!',
]);
echo $response['status']; // "queued"Use cases

Why SMSGELY
Integration benefits
- Same pricing as the dashboard — one prepaid balance, rates by recharge tier.
- Exact SMS-unit counting for English, Bangla and emoji, identical to billing.
- No duplicate sends — retries with the same request key return the original message.
- Delivery reports by message ID or pushed to your server.
- Masking and non-masking senders through one API.
- Bulk sending with personalised messages in one request.
- Clear errors that say what went wrong and whether to retry.
- Usage logs for every request in your dashboard.
Security
Designed to keep your account and customers safe
Scoped API keys
Give each integration only the permissions it needs. Keys are shown once and stored hashed.IP restrictions
Optionally allow requests only from your server’s IP addresses.Rotate & revoke
Replace or switch off a key instantly if it’s ever exposed.Signed webhooks
Delivery reports are signed so your server can verify they came from SMSGELY.
Never put an API key in website JavaScript or a mobile app — keep it on your server. The documentation shows how.
Delivery reports
Know what happened to every message
Every message has a status — queued, sent, delivered or failed — that you can look up by ID or receive automatically. Uncertain gateway answers are checked, never blindly resent, so customers don’t get duplicates.
API documentation requires a free SMSGELY account.
SMS API questions
Do I need a developer to use the SMS API?
For a custom website or app, yes — any developer who can make an HTTPS request can integrate it in an afternoon. For WordPress and WooCommerce there are step-by-step guides in the dashboard.
Where is the API documentation?
The full API documentation — endpoints, parameters, responses, error codes, rate limits and code in PHP, JavaScript, Python and cURL — is inside your SMSGELY dashboard under Developer → API Documentation. Create a free account to access it.
Is API sending priced differently?
No. API messages use the same rates, the same SMS-unit counting and the same balance as the dashboard. The rate depends on your recharge tier.
Can I send Bangla OTPs and alerts?
Yes. Bangla and English are both supported. Bangla text uses Unicode, so the same message may need more SMS units — the API tells you exactly how many.
How do I know a message was delivered?
Each message gets an ID and a status (queued, sent, delivered, failed). You can check it any time, or receive delivery reports automatically on your server through signed webhooks.
Prefer to send without code? Use bulk SMS from the dashboard.
